Yamaha DM3 Series Version 3.0 Firmware Adds Automixer....

Yamaha, a leading brand in the audio industry, has recently announced a new firmware update for their popular DM3 mixer. This update brings a highly anticipated feature to the table - Automix. But what exactly does this mean for users? Let's dive into the details.
January 21st, 2025, Shizuoka, Japan - Yamaha has announced the latest firmware for its DM3 series digital mixing consoles. Adding an eight channel Automixer and support for the new Rio3224-D3 and Rio1608-D3 I/O racks, Version 3.0 firmware makes DM3 series compact mixers the perfect choice for an even wider range of applications.
Ideal for multi-participant speech and broadcast applications, the new Automixer function is available on input channels 1 to 8. It automatically optimises microphone gain distribution smoothly and naturally, reliably reducing background noise and feedback, without the operator having to operate multiple faders. The Automixer is very easy to set up and allows operators to focus on other aspects of the audio production.
DM3 firmware Version 3.0 also supports Yamaha's new Rio3224-D3 and Rio1608-D3 I/O racks, which allow for more flexible system configuration. With the R-series D3 units added to the DM3 Auto Setup list for automatically configuring Dante patches and controlling head amps, DM3 series mixers can be added into large scale systems in combination with DM7 and RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems.
“The Automixer function has been requested by many users since the release of the DM3 series. It makes these compact consoles an even more powerful, versatile and cost-effective solution for every kind of application,” says Thomas Hemery, Senior General Manager, Yamaha Professional Solutions division.
“Compatibility with the new Rio-D3 I/O units also means that, as well as standalone use in small-to-medium sized rigs, DM3 series mixers can be seamlessly integrated into much larger systems. It’s another example of Yamaha reacting to the needs of our customers and allowing them to Do More.”
Version 3.0 firmware is a free update for all DM3 series console owners.
